New Europe: Mixed progress on integrating immigrants

A new study, the Migrant Integration Policy Index had its third report in seven years published. The report rates 31 countries on how their policies and laws help or hinder integration. The figure is based on analysing 148 criteria in four main areas; political representation; education; Labour rights and anti-discrimination laws. The findings are a result of collaboration between the British Council, the Migration Policy Group and national partners...
The average score is around 50 out of a maximum of 100 points. Sweden scored highest, with 83 points, followed by Portugal (79), Finland (69), Netherlands (68), Belgium (67) and Norway, (66).
