MIPEX in Belgium conference: 'Migrant children's access to successful education'

Conference in the framework of MIPEX, a comparative study of integration policies of immigrants: 13/05/2011, 14.00 - 17.00 at BIP, Place Royale 10-11, 1000 Brussels
The conference will be held in the framework of the third edition of the « Migrant Integration Policy Index » (MIPEX), a joint initiative of the Migration Policy Group and of the British Council. MIPEX is the most comprehensive comparative study of integration policies of immigrants in the EU 27 member states as well as in Canada, United States, Switzerland and Norway.The research also covered Belgium which, in the light of its policies, has scored quite well again this year and is ranked at a remarkable sixth position.This year MIPEX has introduced new indicators related to education policies for migrants’ children. The conference will focus on this very topic. The situation in Belgium will be examined in the light of i.e. the results of the PISA study while experts from Sweden and Portugal will present the policies that are implemented in their country in this field.You find the program of this conference here below.The conference will be held in English, Dutch, French (simultaneous translation)
