Immigrant integration in the European and Czech context

Although immigrant integration is rather a new process in the Czech context, the data on foreigners in the CR imply a rising trend. According to the Migrant Integration Policy Index (MIPEX) (2011), a study focusing on the comparison of European integration policies, CR is described as a new country for immigration and resulted as “halfway favourable” in terms of integration policies. The study criticizes Czech authorities for having many ways of how to reject applications for long term residence permits.
