ENAR: Shadow report on racism in Greece

Changes in legal developments regarding discrimination andequality legislation from the previous year. Anti-racism and anti-discrimination provisions are found in Law 3304/2005 on the ‘Implementation of the principle of equal treatment regardless of racial or ethnic origin, religious or other beliefs, disability, age or sexual orientation'. According to the MIPEX Report, Greek anti-discrimination law meets the minimum standards required by the EU. However, as reported by Adla Shashati in the previous ENAR shadow report, discrimination based on nationality/citizenship is not explicitly prohibited in law, notwithstanding recommendations made by the Greek Ombudsman in the past. Racial profiling is a serious concern and will be discussed...
